The first week is over!

Congratulations on making it through your first week of 2009-10. I hope that you can get some rest over the three day weekend (Labor Day is Monday). This year I am going to try and add links to important news stories and events on Fridays. Check out these stories.

China's [communist] flag to go up at the White House?- http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/china/2009-07/13/content_8422505.htm Why do you think that many Americans will be upset by this?

U.S. Unemployment rises to 9.7% -http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=azXZugoul_S0 Ouch! What do you think that the Obama administration should do about this growing problem?

President Obama speaks to the nation's students-http://apnews.myway.com/article/20090904/D9AGF8L80.html and http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0909/26744.html Much ado about nothing or is the fear of dictatorship real?

On the lighter side I hope you will pay attention to this http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/buckeyextra/gameday/home.html on Saturday. Go Bucks!

why are people freaking out over 9.7% unemployment? Yes people are out of jobs, but this is nothing compared to the great depression. I'm pretty sure it was around 25% of people then. Think about it this way. Out of ten people, only one is losing their job. Is it really that bad?

Also about the Chinese flag flying at the White House, I don't see the big deal. In fact I think it would help America, it shows that America is willing to embrace other countries despite the differences. Also right now, America need to show as much as love as it can for China, considering they basically "own" the United States. Would you rather have to fly a red flag for one day, or have a collapsed economy, for who knows how long?
