Welcome Back!

Welcome back to school everyone! And welcome to my class blog "Clio's Corner." Who was Clio you ask? She is the Greek muse of history. The above picture is a statue of her that sits on the West side of the National Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol. I happened to visit the Capitol this summer as well as some other places that I am sure we will talk about this school year. Please feel free to use the blog to ask questions about homework assignments, review for exams, and discussion of current events. I will post discussion topics several times a week. You might even find some extra credit opportunities every now and then. In the meantime, take my survey to the left so we can see how the class feels about various topics.

Can we type labels on our cold war maps?

During the presidental election, when someone is running and they already have a title, do they keep that title if they lose? For example if mccain and his running mate sarah palin lose the election, is sarah still the governor of alaska? or did she give that up when she chose to run with mccain? and if obama loses, will he still be considered the senator of illinois?

Sorry I haven't replied. Natalia -Yes you may type labels on your map.
Emily, a candidate does keep their other position when they lose in another elction. John Kerry remained a Senator even after running for President in 2004.

How many u.s. events and world events are on the timelines? And if the u.s. participates in an event but it happens somewhere else is it considered a u.s. event or world event or both?
