O.k. O.k. already! I know that I have been slacking on the blogging quite a bit but now that my Veteran's Day responsibilities are over I can get back at it. First, thanks to all the student help for the assembly. I don't think that I have ever heard the student body so quiet and respectful. Please continue to remember our veterans and their sacrifices to keep us free.
Secondly, here are some interesting news links that I came across today. Enjoy!
"Sgt. Fido is Found" (http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1227206/Nato-Labrador-Sabi-safe-YEAR-lost-fierce-Afghanistan-battle.html) Pretty cool story about a NATO bomb sniffer that was lost in Afghanistan for over 14 months.
"Middle School Food Fight" (http://abcnews.go.com/WN/education-school-safety-tolerance-polices-lack-common-sense/story?id=9053934) Charter school in Chicago arrests a couple of dozen students for starting a food fight, HARSH!
"NY-23 Race Still Going" (http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2009/11/its_not_over_recanvassing_shows_ny23_race.html)
read the story and discover how crazy our electoral process can be. This one might be up to the courts with big time implications.

We remember 9/11
It is hard to believe that this is the eight year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. For those of you too young to remember I found this link http://www.frugalsites.net/911/sept11.html that provides a great memorial to those lost.

Welcome Back!
Welcome back to school! And welcome to Clio's Corner. Who was Clio? She was the Greek muse of history and her likeness (as seen above) sits in the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol. We will use this page for quite a number of things this year. I will provide online review for exams, homework hints, as well as links to significant things going on in the U.S. and around the world. Feel free to post comments or ask questions. Have a great first week back at school.

Summertime woohooo!
But first we need to take our FINAL EXAM! First, use your old study guides (1970s and 80s Exams) to prepare for he final. As for the extra credit questions, I will ask you to answer some questions about leaders in the new Obama administration (http://www.usa.gov/Agencies/federal.shtml), Ohio state government (http://ohio.gov/index.stm), as well as current events (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/). Check out the sites and get ready for summertime!

National day of Prayer 2009
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Here is their website and promo video (http://www.ndptf.org/schools/Index.cfm?Entity=8&Department=8&Dept_Order=1&This_TopicOrder=3&This_SubtopicOrder=1#2).
